Year 2

What a fantastic, busy term we had! Year 2A and 2B have participated in many fun activities throughout this term.

Every Tuesday, the Year 2s have been participating in a swimming program at Kingswim. This program has improved their strength and flexibility. Students have learnt swimming techniques which have encouraged them to be independent in the water. Well done Year 2s!

This term, students have been learning about forces and gravity through their Push and Pull unit in Physical Science. They have been exploring how the strength of a push or a pull affects how an object moves. Students visited Flip Out: Trampoline Park. Students built social skills and had lots of fun.

On Friday 15 November, students participated in the athletics carnival. They played tabloid sports, which they rotated every fifteen minutes. They enjoyed each activity. Students who attended the carnival received a participation award.

In English, students have learnt the structure and language features of persuasive texts. Students were able to investigate reasons for and against about various topics. Students also enjoyed debating in class; they have worked in teams and shared their opinions.

In Numeracy, students solved problems by using number sentences for multiplication and division. Students have also learnt about grams and kilograms. We did hands-on activities by comparing objects according to their weight and described objects in term of lighter, heavier, less than, and more than. Students enjoyed weighing and recording a set of objects in the classroom.

It has been a pleasure teaching Year 2s this year. We are very proud of them. We have learned, laughed, studied and shared lots of memories together. They have worked very hard and tried their best. We wish them all the best next year in Year 3. Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday.

Kind Regards,
Year 2 Team
